Arriving Missionaries

 February 11, 2019 will always be a great day for us because that is the day we welcomed this wonderful group of new missionaries!  They all flew in on the same flight to the Santa Barbara Airport. We then took everyone to Kyle's Kitchen, a restaurant in Goleta, to have dinner and get to know each other better. For the first time in over a year, we were also able to go up to the Serra Cross at Grant Park in Ventura. It is a beautiful location where you can look out over all of Ventura,Oxnard and the Ocean. Even though it was dark, we were so excited to be able to show all of the new missionaries this beautiful area!  Then we went to the mission home where our assistants, Elder Barzee, Elder Goodman and Elder Drury shared some ideas on how to talk to people and had them all practice. The next day, we all ate breakfast together and then went to the mission office for training from our wonderful Senior missionaries on health, finances, vehicles and apartments. After eating lunch with all of the trainers, they were finally able to find out who their new companions would be and where they would be serving! It really is one of the most fun days in our missionary schedule! We love the excitement and faith that each person brings! There just has never been a greater time to be a missionary and we are so grateful that God has called them to us! We love each one of them already and look forward to the blessings of "Gathering Scattered Israel!"
