Departing Missionaries

The last day for these wonderful missionaries starts with the transfer train.  Each one comes from their apartments down to the Gonzales building. They all arrive in time to eat lunch with all of the new missionaries and their trainers along with other missionaries who are moving in the transfer. All of their luggage is loaded into a  truck or trailer and then they all wait for the new missionary training to finish. When all is done, all of the departing missionaries go together in the van to down town Ventura. Then we all meet at our mission home for dinner and testimonies.
One of our favorite experiences is to sit and enjoy listening to the stories and experiences of  theses wonderful young men and women. There seems to be a real connection with those that you started your missions with. It is just such a great opportunity to hear them talk about how much they have grown and changed since they began.
After testimonies are shared, and we all kneel together for the last time, we cut the ties of the Elders to keep as a reminder of each one of them. We meet at 6:30 the next morning for one final picture and then they are finally on their way to meet their families!
